Schröder equation and commuting functions on the circle

چکیده
We show that if F :S1 → S1 is a homeomorphism of the unit circle S1 and the rotation number α(F ) of F is irrational, then the Schröder equation Φ ( F(z) = e2πiα(F Φ(z), z ∈ S1, has a unique (up to a multiplicative constant) continuous at a point of the limit set of F solution. We apply this result to prove that if F is a non-trivial continuous and disjoint iteration group or semigroup on S1 and a continuous at least at one point function G :S1 → S1 commutes with a suitable element of F , then G ∈F . © 2007 Elsevier Inc. Application of Boundera Element Method (Bem) to Two-Dimensional Poisson's Eqation
BEM can be used to solve Poisson's equation if the right hand side of the equation is constant because it can easily be transformed to an equivalent Laplace equation. However, if the right hand side is not constant, then such a treatment is impossible and part of the equation can not be transformed over the boundary, hence, the whole domain has to be discretized. Although this takes away impor...
متن کاملA Denjoy Type Theorem for Commuting Circle Diffeomorphisms with Derivatives Having Different Hölder Differentiability Classes
Let d > 2 be an integer number, and let fk, k ∈ {1, . . . , d}, be Ck commuting circle diffeomorphisms, with τk ∈ ]0, 1[ and τ1 + · · · + τd > 1. We prove that if the rotation numbers of the fk’s are independent over the rationals (that is, if the corresponding action of Z n on the circle is free), then they are simultaneously (topologically) conjugate to rotations. 2000 Math. متن کاملEssentially Commuting Toeplitz Operators
For f in L∞, the space of essentially bounded Lebesgue measurable functions on the unit circle, ∂D, the Toeplitz operator with symbol f is the operator Tf on the Hardy space H2 of the unit circle defined by Tfh = P (fh). Here P denotes the orthogonal projection in L2 with range H2. There are many fascinating problems about Toeplitz operators ([3], [6], [7] and [20]). In this paper we shall conc...
متن کاملA TAXICAB VERSION OF A TRIANGLE' S APOLLONIUS CIRCLE
One of the most famous problems of classical geometry is the Apollonius' problem asks construction of a circle which is tangent to three given objects. These objects are usually taken as points, lines, and circles. This well known problem was posed by Apollonius of Perga ( about 262 - 190 B.C.) who was a Greek mathematician known as the great geometer of ancient times after Euclid and Archimede...
متن کاملCar Use Behavioral Study for Commuting Trips: Parents’ Work Trips and Children’s School Trips
Negative consequences of car use along with deficiencies for investment in environmental friendly modes, have driven authorities to search for soft measure in order to encourage people for modal shift. The main objective of this study is to propose a model which describes car use behavior on parents’ work trips and how this relates to mode choice regarding their children’s school trips. A quest...
